Croupier Academy

Attend a Professional Croupier Academy

You don't simply "apply" to a casino without training. Almost all dealers in Italy graduate from a specialized academy.

Notable Training Center

  • Chilton Croupier School: One of the most famous schools in Italy operating since 20 years and leader in Europe with locations in Naples, Rome, and Palermo. Their courses typically last 8–12 weeks.
  • Centro Formazione Croupier: Based in Rome, another famous school in Italy.

What You Will Learn

A standard course will cover the "Big Four" games:

1. American Roulette: Managing the wheel and the complex "racetrack" bets.

2. Blackjack: Dealing, counting, and managing the shoe.

3. Punto Banco / Baccarat: The high-stakes favorite of many international guests.

4. Poker Variances: Specifically Ultimate Texas Hold’em and Three card poker.

The Table Test

Once you have your certificate, the hiring process usually involves a Table Test. This is more than just an interview; it’s a performance. A pit boss or manager will watch you:

  • Open a new deck of cards with flair.
  • Handle stacks of chips (cutting and splashing).
  • Maintain "game pace" (keeping the game moving quickly without making errors).
  • Interact with "players" (usually other staff members) to test your temperament.

♠️ Pro Tip

“In Italy, "Bella Presenza" (a professional and groomed appearance) is highly valued. Expect to wear a formal suit or uniform and maintain a composed, neutral demeanor even when "players" are being difficult.”
