The Application and Hiring Process

How to Become an Online Casino Dealer in Malta: Part 5

Written by Massimo Morana

The hiring process at most live casino studios in Malta is straightforward and moves relatively quickly. Here's what to expect.

Step 1: Apply Online

Most studios post openings directly on their careers pages. Evolution, for example, has a dedicated Malta careers page at careers.evolution.com/malta. Pragmatic Play routes through ARRISE at arrise.com/careers. You can also find listings on LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and Malta-specific job boards like maltajobs.eu. Submit your CV (or resume) and a brief cover letter or video introduction highlighting your language skills and personality.

Step 2: Initial Screening

If your language profile matches what the studio needs, you'll typically be invited to a video interview or an in-person interview. This is less about your dealing knowledge and more about assessing your on-camera presence, communication style, and language fluency. They want to see how you carry yourself, how you interact, and whether you have the kind of energy that translates well on a live stream.

Step 3: Audition or Screen Test

Some studios will ask you to do a short screen test, either remotely or on-site. This might involve standing in front of a camera, introducing yourself, explaining a simple concept, or role-playing a brief game scenario. Don't overthink it. Be yourself, be clear, and let your personality come through.

Step 4: Offer and Onboarding

If you pass the audition, you'll receive a formal job offer. If you're relocating to Malta, the studio will typically provide guidance on flights, temporary accommodation (some studios offer free accommodation for the first 2 to 3 weeks), and help with setting up your bank account, phone number, and residence paperwork.

Step 5: The Training Academy

Once you arrive and your paperwork is sorted, you'll enter the studio's in-house training academy. This is where you'll learn everything you need to know to step in front of the camera as a professional Game Presenter. We'll cover the training process in detail in the next section.

♠️ My Insider Tip: When applying, record a short self-introduction video even if they don't ask for one. A 60-second clip of you speaking confidently and naturally to a camera, in your target language, can set you apart from hundreds of text-only applications. First impressions matter, always.
